Cory Bell is CEO and co-owner of Lindsay Construction. Cory graduated from Dalhousie University with a Bachelor of Science and the Technical University of Nova Scotia with a Bachelor of Civil Engineering. Cory began with the company 20 years ago as a Site Engineer and progressed to various senior positions, a history which contributes to his appreciation for all facets of the job. Under his leadership, Lindsay Construction was named one of Deloitte’s Best Managed Companies from 2014 to 2018 and Cory has been named a Top 50 CEO by Atlantic Business Magazine from 2014 to 2018 and Hall of Fame Recipient in 2018. In 2018 he was presented the EY Entrepreneur of the Year in the Business to Business category.
As important as Cory’s professional life is, he has a strong belief in giving back to the community. Over $750,000 was raised for the IWK during the three years he chaired the Great Big Dig. He is a long-time supporter of the Ride to Conquer Cancer and has raised almost $50,000 annually. in 2014, he co‐founded Trailblazer for Cancer, a flagship community fundraiser that has raised over $800,000 for cancer charities. Among the other causes he supports include the United Way, Children’s Wish Foundation, Queen Elizabeth Health Sciences Centre and Habitat for Humanity. In 2016 he received the Courage to Give Back Award from Family S.O.S. and in 2017 he received the Inspire Award from Big Brothers and Big Sisters.
As a father of two who has personally experienced the outstanding care provided by the IWK, Cory is committed to supporting the hospital to ensure other families receive the same excellence in care in the future.
