As co-founder of Corporate Research Associates, and CEO since its inception, Don is recognized as one of Canada’s leading public opinion and market research professionals with more than thirty years’ experience in the industry. He was recognized as a Fellow of the Marketing Research & Intelligence Association in 2009. His experience spans work in public sector research, telecommunications, transportation, financial services, tourism, retail and natural resources. As a qualified expert witness in the field of public opinion and market research, Don has appeared before numerous boards, commissions and judicial courts, including the CRTC and the Supreme Court of Nova Scotia.
He is actively involved in both the research industry and the community, and has served on a variety of Boards including the Halifax International Airport Authority, the YMCA (Past Chair), Dalhousie University (Honorary Secretary), the Arthritis Society of Nova Scotia (Past Chair), the Halifax Chamber of Commerce (Founding President), and the Greater Halifax Partnership (Past Chair) – just to name a few. He is currently Chair of Nova Scotia Sport Hall of Fame; Lead Ambassador for the Atlantic Cancer Research Institute; Board Member of Laing House and the Atlantic Institute for Market Studies (AIMS); and member of the Board of Trustees for the YMCA; as well as member of the Board of Directors of Poly Cello and Total Marketing and Communications Ltd. (Bermuda).
