Michael holds responsibility for RBC’s Commercial Financial Services business in Atlantic Canada. Through a team of roughly 110 financial services professionals led by seven vice presidents, Michael oversees the delivery of financing, investment, cash management, hedging and international business solutions to commercial businesses, not-for-profit and public sector entities throughout Atlantic Canada.
Michael is a graduate of both Acadia University (Bachelor of Mathematics) and Saint Mary’s University (Master of Business Administration). Born and raised in New Brunswick, Michael joined RBC in 1988 in Atlantic Canada and spent 13 years in that region working primarily in business and commercial banking. In 2001, Michael relocated to Toronto, holding National Office and client facing roles, and then to Ottawa as Vice President Commercial Banking. In 2010 Michael returned to Halifax as Director of Risk Management Atlantic and was appointed to his current role in May 2011.
Michael has always been very involved in community activities through fundraising and volunteerism, and is presently serving on Prostate Cancer Canada's Atlantic Advisory Board.
