Shrouded Gaming

“Seeing kids go through serious or life-changing medical situations is one of the hardest things to think about,” says Alexander, who has created a close-knit community of gamers with a shared mission: raising funds for the IWK.

Shrouded Gaming, founded by Alexander, prides itself on being a friendly and safe place for all gamers. They have also become a passionate community of gamers dedicated to supporting the IWK through Extra Life, a Children’s Miracle Network® fundraising program. Since 2020, they have been raising funds to ensure the IWK has everything it needs to provide world-class care, such as advanced medical equipment and improved technology.

Shrouded Gaming raises funds through high-energy 24 and 48-hour charity streams, interactive milestones, and community participation—all ways that help to achieve a high score in fundraising. They also host a three-day gaming marathon, which saw a record-breaking year in 2025, raising nearly $13,000 for the IWK.

Although Alexander’s children haven’t needed the IWK, he shares that becoming a parent has changed his perspective on the IWK. “The IWK was always important to me, but having a child of my own really drives home how scary it would be to have your kid sick and need that kind of specialized care,” says Alex. “Families already have so much to worry about in those moments, so if the IWK can help take even some of that weight off their shoulders, that is huge.”

Since turning their passion into action for charitable causes, Shrouded Gaming has raised over $110,000, including more than $40,000 for the IWK.
