At 15 years old, Corinne was a witty, full-of-life teen who loved to dance and had her entire future ahead of her. But on a winding road in a small, rural Nova Scotia town, Corinne’s life took an unexpected turn.

Rachel was in her third trimester when the care team at her local hospital discovered her unborn baby wasn’t growing as expected. “At 37 weeks, Fiona was born, and within 48 hours, we were back at our local emergency room. She wouldn’t eat. She was just so lethargic.”

When 16-year-old Oliver, a star quarterback for his high school football team, discovered a lump under his arm in February 2024, he never expected he’d have to tackle a very serious health issue.

Michele and Matthew were eager to grow their little family and give their one-year-old son, Dean, a sibling. So, they were delighted in early summer 2024 when they discovered Michele was pregnant.
