Western Financial Group

For Western Financial Group, creating safe, supportive places where people feel cared for during life’s most challenging moments is at the heart of everything they do. And that’s what they’ve been doing for the past 25 years through their non-profit arm, Western Communities Foundation (WCF).

As WCF prepared to celebrate its 25th anniversary, it became important to them to deepen their impact through a partnership that was national in scope, but local at heart. That’s why partnering with Canada’s Children’s Hospital Foundations (CCHF), an organization committed to supporting children’s hospitals like the IWK, was a natural fit.

“Children’s hospitals are among the most essential safe places in our communities, providing care, comfort, and hope to families when they need it most,” says Michelle Mak, Director, Western Communities Foundation. “By supporting children’s health, we’re strengthening families and building healthier, more resilient communities, values that are embedded in everything we do, not just our charitable work.”

To put their passion for supporting children’s hospitals into action, WCF launched the Quote for Hope campaign. From March 1 to May 31, 2026, WCF will donate $10 (up to a maximum of $50,000) to local children’s hospital foundations, including the IWK Foundation, for every eligible home and business insurance quote from new customers. All donations stay local, helping kids in communities across the country access the best possible care and treatment.

“Campaigns like Quote for Hope make it easy for customers to be part of community impact,” says Michelle. “Customers can feel proud knowing that when they choose Western, they’re supporting a company where community giving is guided by local voices, embraced wholeheartedly by employees, and focused on creating safe places for children and families across Canada,” she adds.
