The 2024 Orchid Gala celebrated women’s health Saturday October 5, with a black-tie event in Halifax that raised over $731,018 for the IWK Foundation and an additional $30,000 for the United Way.
The Orchid Gala aims to improve health care for women in the province of Nova Scotia.
By working with government, medical and industry professionals to improve access to procedures critical to women's health, they have the goal to reduce wait times and give doctors the tools they need to deliver the best care possible for Maritime women.
This year's gala will take place on Saturday, October 5th, at the Steele Wheels Motor Museum in Bayers Lake, and will support the IWK Health.
Funds raised will help support the Gala's goal to rehouse the Gynaecology department, presently located on the 6th floor of IWK Health, as well as purchase urgently required equipment for the Gynaecology team at the IWK.
