Charlotte County IWK Fundraising Committee

For the past 38 years, the Charlotte County IWK Fundraising Committee—a group of dedicated working moms—has been proudly supporting the IWK through various fundraising initiatives, raising an incredible $400,000 to date.

"Our committee's inspiration to support the IWK comes from knowing the incredible impact it has on families throughout our region," says Jennifer Cornish Johnston, Committee Chair for the past 26 years. "Almost everyone knows someone whose life has been touched by the care, compassion, and expertise provided by the IWK. Every dollar raised helps ensure that children and families continue to receive the exceptional care they deserve, close to home.”

Every year, the committee hosts three signature fundraising events: a Dinner & Auction, IWK Kids Carnival, and a Choctail Hour during the St. Stephen Chocolate Festival. This year, the IWK Kids Carnival celebrates its 25th anniversary—a milestone that reflects the generosity of volunteers, sponsors, and supporters who have made the event a community tradition.

“While our committee may organize the events, it truly takes a village. Every volunteer, sponsor, family member, friend, and supporter has played a role in our success over the past 38 years,” says Jennifer. “We are incredibly grateful for that support and proud of what we have accomplished together for the children and families who rely on the IWK,” Jennifer adds.

The women who have been a part of the Charlotte County IWK Fundraising Committee over the past 38 years have built not only a dedicated fundraising committee, but lasting friendships rooted in a shared commitment to helping children and families across the Maritimes. And after nearly four decades of dedication, their commitment continues to make a lasting impact.
