Lilianne Savoie

When ten-month-old Lilianne began to walk, her parents noticed that something just wasn’t right.

As she grew, her hip began to make a clicking noise. She was referred to the IWK where she was diagnosed with developmental dysplasia of the hip.

Over the course of the next year, she had four surgeries to correctly position her hip in the socket.

We were worried to fall into the trap of letting her diagnosis dictate her potential. Thankfully, the IWK was very supportive and helped us make sure this didn’t happen.

Through the care and support of her team at the IWK, nine-year-old Lilianne is now an active and athletic child. In fact, she will competing at a national karate tournament in March 2018.

At Lilianne’s upcoming check-up at the IWK she can’t wait to show her doctors that she can almost do the splits.
