Alyssa Rose, IWK Patient

Alyssa Rose

After experiencing frequent headaches and blurry vision, Alyssa was diagnosed with a tumour on her brain stem that required a complex surgery. The support of her school and the IWK Health Centre's Child Life team helped give her strength as she began her IWK journey.

Annaliese Delorey

As the air ambulance approached the IWK Health Centre, Lori Delorey had faith that her unborn baby daughter was going to be okay.

Pregnant with her first child, Lori went to her local hospital after experiencing abnormal bleeding. She was then sent to the IWK for emergency care.

Hope from New Waterford, Cape Breton was diagnosed with cerebral palsy when she was two – a condition that affects her muscle strength and her ability to eat food. In June 2018, at the age of seven, the IWK continues to be there for every step of her health care journey.
