Patient safety is an integral part of the fabric at IWK Health. QPS Applied Research Chair, Dr. Janet Curran and her team are committed to enhancing a strong safety culture at the IWK. One of their areas of focus is enhancing discharge communication.

Effective communication is one of the most critical aspects of patient care, particularly at the time of discharge. Through Dr. Curran’s research, the IWK can ensure that patients and families receive the information they need, using culturally appropriate tools, so they are confident and able to continue their care at home.
