In November 2014, Jim decided to leave a gift in his will to the IWK Foundation. This gift is in honour of Sam Jangaard, the son of a dear friend and IWK Foundation employee, Kim Farmer.
Kim and Jim met 13 years ago through their love of running; they were members of a running team called Beauties and the Beast. During this time Kim’s son Sam, who was born July 7, 2002, was diagnosed with brain cancer and sadly passed away, on May 7, 2006, shortly before his fourth birthday. Being so close to Kim and her family, Jim was impacted by the life of this amazing little boy.
