Meet Our Heroes

IWK Heroes

When you give to the IWK Foundation, you are helping to change the lives of the women, children and youth who depend on the IWK.

We are honoured to share the stories of courageous patients, amazing caregivers and generous supporters who know the value of the IWK to the Maritime community.

Meet some of the people who bring the IWK to life every day.

Ainsley McIsaac, IWK patient

Ainsley McIsaac

For first-time mom Stephanie McIsaac, the experience of pregnancy was new and a rollercoaster of emotions and physical changes like many first-time mom’s experiences.

Matthew LeBlanc, IWK Patient

Matthew LeBlanc

Twins Ben and Matthew LeBlanc were born prematurely, at 32 weeks, in 2012 and were immediately admitted to the IWK’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Ben did very well and was discharged after five weeks.
