If ever there was a time to feel immense pride in the place we call home—and the people who make up our Maritime community—it is now.
This past weekend we saw the magnificence of our community on full display. Donors from across the Maritimes pledged a record-breaking $6,733,024.50 in support of the IWK Telethon for Children on CTV.
For that, we are incredibly grateful.
We understand times are tough, and donors have many choices and causes they can support. We are so grateful to each and every donor who stepped up for the IWK. What Maritimers have shown us, once again, is that they are invested in ensuring the very best care is there for their families when they need it. We promise never to take that support for granted.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
Telethon truly demonstrated the best of our community—a community that has collectively endured so much hardship over the past two years. Stories of patients and families, the challenges and triumphs of the IWK team, and generous donors who raised funds for our IWK filled our hearts.
We were incredibly proud to recognize the care, perseverance and passion of the IWK team. The way they have faced the unexpected and extraordinary events surrounding the pandemic is something to be celebrated and admired.
Together, we will continue on this journey knowing we live in one of the best and most generous places in the world. There is something so selfless about the Maritimes and its unwavering support of the IWK. After all, children may represent 25 per cent of our population, but they are 100 per cent of our future.
For women. For children. For the future.
With love and gratitude,
The IWK Foundation Family
