
It's important to have the IWK. If kids are sick, they can go in and the nurses and doctors make them feel special.

For most people, eating a meal does not begin with math. However this is the reality for 11-year-old Hallie from Halifax, Nova Scotia. Hallie has Type 1 Diabetes and has to carefully manage her blood sugar with the help of an insulin pump.

Realizing that this was a lifelong diagnosis was hard. This wasn’t something that mom or dad could take away.
