Mackenzie Joy

Ten year old Mackenzie Joy of Middle Sackville, Nova Scotia, has a unique view of the world and has discovered a way to share it – through the lens of her camera. After receiving a Nikon camera for Christmas, Mackenzie quickly mastered its settings and started capturing images. Now she’s using that talent to support the IWK Health Centre.

Mackenzie was born with a chromosomal abnormality which results in learning challenges and she also has ADHD. She’s had multiple visits and several surgeries at the IWK in her young life.

The IWK has done so much for Mackenzie and we certainly wouldn't be where we are without the incredible care and support that we've received there.

Mackenzie has raised an astounding $4,265 selling her work through her various photography shows and her Facebook page. The generosity and thoughtfulness of our young donors, like Mackenzie, is what helps make the IWK a centre of excellence in the Maritimes.

Thank you for your support Mackenzie.
